Professional Subcision Treatment in Malaysia

Release Deep Scars · Rebuild Smooth Skin Texture

Tired of depressed or "pitted" acne scars that won't fade with creams? At GEM Clinic, we specialize in Subcision, a highly effective, minimally invasive procedure designed to "untether" deep scars from the underlying tissue. By physically releasing the fibers that pull your skin downward, we allow your skin to heal upward, resulting in a significantly smoother, more refined complexion.

What We Treat

Subcision is the gold standard for "depressed" irregularities where the skin is being pulled from beneath

Rolling Acne Scars

Wide, shallow depressions that give the skin an "undulating" or wavy appearance.

Deep Boxcar Scars

Pitted scars with sharp, vertical edges.

Chickenpox & Injury Scars

Sunken marks left behind by past infections or surgical procedures.

Depressed Surgical Scars

Scars that have healed inward, creating a "dip" in the skin surface.

Deep Static Wrinkles

Persistent folds that have become tethered to the underlying muscle or tissue over time.

Treatment Process

1. Pre-Treatment Consultation

Every procedure begins with a comprehensive skin analysis conducted by our LCP-certified aesthetic doctors. During this stage, we map out your specific scar morphology, identifying deep, tethered scars that are best suited for subcision. Once a personalized treatment plan is established, we prioritize your comfort by applying a topical anesthetic or local numbing agent to the target areas.

2. Treatment Procedure

During the procedure, a tri-beveled hypodermic needle is carefully inserted just beneath the scar tissue. Our experienced doctors use the needle's edge to precisely break the fibrotic strands that are tethering the scar to the underlying tissue.

3. Post Treatment Care

Following the session, our doctors conduct a thorough safety review of the treated areas to ensure optimal results. You will be provided with a customized aftercare guide to support smooth healing and manage any minor swelling or temporary bruising. Most patients are able to resume their daily routines quickly. We also provide follow-up advice to monitor the gradual smoothing of your skin as new collagen continues to develop.

Treatment Benefits

Unlike temporary fixes, subcision addresses the root structural cause of the scar for permanent texture refinement.

Works perfectly when combined with Skin Boosters or Dermal Fillers to further "plump" the area and bolster hydration.

Performed under local anesthesia, the procedure is quick and well-tolerated with only a minor "tugging" sensation.

Because it works beneath the surface, there is a very low risk of the pigmentation issues often associated with laser treatments on darker skin tones.

Beyond just fixing scars, the boost in collagen production improves the overall tone and elasticity of the treated area.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions?

We use an anesthetic to numb the treatment area completely. You may feel a bit of pressure or hear a slight "snapping" sound as the fibrotic bands are released, but the procedure itself is generally painless.

You may experience some bruising, swelling, and mild tenderness for 3 to 7 days. This is actually a good sign, as the bruising (hematoma) helps prevent the scar from re-tethering while new collagen forms.

Depending on the severity and depth of scars, most patients see the best results after 2 to 4 sessions, spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart.

Yes! In fact, we often recommend combining subcision with GEM Microlaser or Dermal Fillers. Releasing the scar first allows these other treatments to work much more effectively.

The structural release of the scar is permanent. However, because your skin continues to age, we recommend maintaining your collagen levels with good skincare and sun protection.
