Fine lines & Wrinkles

Fine lines & wrinkles are often one of the very first signs of aging. Fine lines are shallow lines that are superficial and closer to the skin’s surface while wrinkles are deeper. As we age, fine lines may turn into wrinkles.

Dynamic Wrinkles

Static Wrinkles

What causes it

What causes Fine lines & Wrinkles?

Aging

Collagen and elastin fibers are two major proteins that provide structure to skin’s firmness and elasticity. As we age, there is an increase in collagen and elastin breakdown. At the same time, there is also a decrease in collagen and elastin production. When this occurs, static wrinkles form on the skin’s surface.

Repeated facial expressions

Fine lines and wrinkles can form as a result of muscle contractions when we make facial expressions. For example, dynamic wrinkles often form at the corners of eyelids, between the eyebrows, and near the lips and forehead as a result of repeated facial expressions such as squinting, smiling and laughing.

Sun exposure

Research suggests that sun exposure is responsible for 80 percent of collagen and elastin reduction. The sun also weakens the bond between the dermis (a connective tissue layer of skin) and the epidermis (the outer layer of skin). As a result, the skin loses its firmness and elasticity and forms wrinkles.

You can slow down skin’s aging with collagen stimulation treatments such as AestheFill and Thread Lift.

Fine line & Wrinkles Treatment Options

Dermal fillers work by restoring lost volume and stimulating collagen production, which helps to smooth out wrinkles and improve the appearance of the skin. They are typically made from hyaluronic acid, which is a substance found naturally in the body that attracts and retains moisture. When injected into the skin, the filler plumps up the area and creates a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

AestheFill Malaysia is an emerging trend of injectable filler that stimulates collagen production to slow down skin's aging for up to 2 years. It helps to fill the sunkens areas of the face and smoothen fine lines & wrinkles.

Botox, or botulinum toxin is a protein that is used to temporarily weaken the muscles that cause wrinkles to form on the face. When injected into the muscles, it blocks the nerve signals that cause the muscles to contract, resulting in a relaxation of the muscle and smoothening of the overlying skin.

Similar Conditions

From around the age of 25 the first signs of aging(wrinkles, dry skin, saggy skin, crepey skin, age spots) start to appear and become noticeable on the skin. Over time, the skin no longer looks as plump and smooth as it once did.

Saggy skin is a condition where the skin loses its elasticity. A firm skin can stretch and return to its original form easily while saggy skin is the opposite.
