The number of sessions depends on the size and thickness of the scar. Generally, we recommend a series of 3 to 4 injections spaced about 4 to 6 weeks apart for optimal flattening.
The procedure involves a fine needle and is very fast. While you may feel a brief stinging or "pressure" sensation as the steroid enters the dense scar tissue, most patients find it very tolerable.
