Most woman and man have unwanted body and facial hair, some more than the other. Excess body hair causes self-consciousness, is quite distressing, annoying and is time consuming daily to remove that unwanted hair. The amount of hair usually depends on the person’s ethnic background and culture for both man and woman.
Though men are inclined to get hair removed, it is mostly facial hair that is visible, in contrast to women who mostly want unwanted hair removed from every part of their body and face as it is aesthetically an eye sore in this time and age.
Some women have excessive hair due to medical conditions as such as hormonal imbalances (higher than normal levels of androgen and testosterone), thyroid issues, polycystic ovarian syndrome and adrenal gland disorders. Other causes include pregnancy and genetics.
To date, most man and woman tend to either use the old-time methods of waxing, plucking, threading, sugaring, shaving or creams in order to remove the unwanted hairs which are short term solutions for hair removal.
These methods also can cause additional problems on the already existing issue where there would be ingrown hairs or bumps that look ugly and causes infections, sensitive skin, pimples, cuts and sometimes bleeding through
MPL (Medical Pulse Light) is the perfect solution, totally safe, non-invasive and effective method to permanently reduce hair growth removing unwanted facial and body hair for both man and woman. It is more effective than IPL and is relatively painless. It is highly recommended for sensitive skin and also dark-skinned people unlike IPL which is not so suitable for dark skinned.
The most common sites for removal include upper lip, chin, neck, navel, under arms, legs, arms and bikini. A special hand gun is used to transmit the light on to the skin which controls the flashes of light. Prior to treatment commencing, gel is applied to the skin.
The light of rays is absorbed by the hair follicles below the skin which is drawn to the melanin within the hair shaft and heat is delivered to the base of the shaft causing the cell protein of the hair to degenerate thus preventing hair from re-growing. For the process to successful take place, the hair must be in its growing phase.
A course of treatments is necessary as there is only a proportion of hair in the growing phase at a given time. The sensation felt during the treatment is mostly described as an ant bite tingling depending on the sensitivity of the area.
Some clients report feeling nothing at all. On average, 6 to 8 treatments are needed, though some people might need more due to genetics, hair being in remission when area is treated or due to the color, density and location of hair.
Normal activities can be resumed immediately after treatment. A duration of 4 to 6 weeks is required in between each session and clients are advised to refrain from plucking, waxing and sun bathing. Shaving is allowed as normal.
